on the headunit, the LED's sorrounding the display stopped working, meaning the function buttons, as well as the volume knob. the display that has the track numbers & clock still work.

i know that just before this, one or two of the bulbs stopped working. is this simply removing/replacing the LED's, or is this more likely a broken chip or internal part that needs replacement? anyone have a similar experience, i'd rather not have to get a new HU, besides, i memorized where all the buttons are.

yeah, the led is burnt out. there's 1 out on my deck as well.
thing is, they're hard to get a hold of....or at least radio shack or futureshit doesn't carry them (for my deck atleast, they're a lot smaller than the regular led). if u got some though all you'd have to do is solder them out and new ones in.

just take ur face plate apart, it should only take like 1 minute to check 8)

i did take it apart, i can't really tell if the actual LED's are burnt out. they all stopped working when it slipped from my hand when i was trying to mount it on the HU & it dropped, hit the console & onto the floormat Rolling Eyes fred & brian have a pile of led's, so i'm hoping it's just that...

Bring it in on Sunday and we'll take a look. I can order those LEDs from electronic store. I don't think 3mm LED will fit.

funny thing, after i opened the faceplate up one more time, some of the LED's work now, and the other half doesn't. must be something inside that just needs to be re-soldered or repaired
